To create my front cover I used Adobe InDesign.


Although my newspaper is a local newspaper I decided to use conventions of a national tabloid. I focused mainly on building a similar format as The Sun because it is very popular for it's sports section. To make the newspaper more relative to Southend I used dark blue as the background colour on the masthead. This allows consumers to associate the newspaper with Southend.


I used dark navy blue on the masthead as it allows people to identify the newspaper with Southend most popular sports club, Southend United. It also suits the fact that as Southend is a seaside town, blue suits it's image.


To stick with the conventions of a tabloid I used a Times style font for my report.
