Below are sports news websites belonging to News International, ITV, Liverpool Echo, Southend Echo and the BBC. I found that most sports orientated webistes had a fair amount of page space used up by links (usually represented by pictures). Lists of headlines and webiste features were also quite common on the home pages.

Other typical conventions included:

- Straplines
- Blogs
